[] Battle support system
for eRepublik -
[] Description A sophisticated system that
automatically
executed crucial actions within
an online strategy
game(eRepublik.)
Using a basic Google Form to
receive requests
from friendly players, an AWS
server hosting
the script (and controlling my
in-game
actions) would then use
a verification mechanism
to confirm the requester’s
identity
and receipt of payments for
requested actions. It would then
fulfill the
requests instantly.
This required a workaround due
to
the limitations of the game API -

[] Sports - Soccer: Historical match
data of ~45,000
international
soccer games,
starting
from 1872, was
analyzed to
assign an
objective
rating(Elo) to
teams to find
the strongest
teams across
eras and
quantify their
strength.
Presented
visually using
graphs.
- Basketball: All NBA games
since 2014 were
analyzed to find
the strongest
individual
players(by
assigning
objective(Elo)
ratings to
each player.)
Different
methodologies
for calculating
player
performances
were studied and
used to
correctly
identify player
impact on
games(Player
Efficiency
Rating (PER),
Win Shares (WS),
Value Over
Replacement
Player (VORP),
Box Plus/Minus
(BPM)) but a
custom-methodology(based
on these
factors)
ended up being
used. Using
player tracking
data(using
cameras and
sensors to track
player movement,
speed, distances
traveled, etc.)
to create my own
calculations
of player
performances was
also explored
but abandoned
due to
significant
time investment.
, and
various
factors were
taken into
account
(eg.
Teams’ performances when
players didn’t play vs when they played to measure
impact, Usage Rate to see if players were hogging the
ball
to inflate their performances(meaning that while players
had the
same average impact as other players over the same time
period,
they
would
end up having more
overall impact simply due to more time on the ball)
-
[] Description Data analysis in competitive
games for
general insights or personal
improvement
in those games.
Example:
For Age of Empires 2, different
different openings
on different maps with different
civilizations
were compared to identify what
opening works
best for personal improvement.
In Chess and Age of Empires 2, a
dataset of
top players’ ratings was used to
find what players had improved
the fastest.
For Soccer, an elo system was
used to compare
what soccer teams were doing the
best overall.
Also attempted to integrate
individual players’ performances
(in the NBA and Soccer)
to see if I could assign an elo
rating to each player. -
